Sydney’s train network has been thrown into chaos due to urgent track repairs between two of the city’s busiest stations.
Commuters travelling into the city via the Western, North Shore and Northern lines are warned to expect delays due to repairs between Central and Town Hall.
‘Delays to WesternLine services due to track equipment repairs between Town Hall & Central. Please allow additional travel time. Listen to announcements and check information screens,’ Sydney Trains tweeted.
An update posted shortly after 7am Monday stated crews are currently on site working on repairs.

‘Stopping patterns and departure platforms may change at short notice. Please check information screens or reach out to us for travel assistance,’ Sydney Trains added.
Commuters are advised to check real-time apps for updated service information.
Routes affected include, Berowra to City via Gordon, City to Berowra via Gordon, City to Emu Plains and Richmond, Emu Plains or Richmond to City and Hornsby to North Shore via City.
Other routes across Sydney are currently unaffected, according to Sydney Trains.
